I want to know if holders of Qantas Club Membership can use the EK Business Lounge in Dubai. I know that I can use the QF International Business Lounge in Australia (not EK's). But as they are 'Guest / Single-Entry Membership', do the same rules apply.
Thanks David - I will await your reply. I have been trying to get a word on from QF about this...
Its kind of like when I tried to get confirmation from them about Halal Meals (or which, now I know that ALL Meals to / from DXB are Halal). But this took some 5-6 weeks, with numerous emails / replies to a number of personal. Until finally in on 27th Mar, a Rep from QF called me personally to confirm all meals are Halal.
So if you can get a straight answer from QF about Qantas Club membership (singe / one-time entry) that would be good.
Out of curiosity, I have some single entry Qantas Club passes that I intend to use in May when I travel on Emirates with a QF flight number booked through Qantas. I intend to visit the business lounge in Sydney with my 2 sons, will we have a problem getting in? I'm a silver member, my sons are bronze members and flying in economy seats to London.
Chrisor: You should be able to use these passes as the SYD lounge is owned and operated by Qantas. Your membership status doesn't really matter, I guess they will just look at your entry pass. I once gave my complimentary entry passes to my mate who is a Bronze member and he managed to use it just fine.
Chrisor: I concur with Waynec - you should be able to use them in any of the QF Lounges in AUS as they are their own lounges, but me thinks the use in EK is still in limbo...Waiting on David's reply...
Just heard back from Qantas, which advises that (as expected) Qantas Club single passes are "only valid at Qantas owned & operated lounges (both domestic and international), they can’t be used in an associate lounge" such as those run by Emirates at Dubai.

Amjid: yes, Qantas Club membership gets you into the Emirates Business Lounge at Dubai - see http://www.ausbt.com.au/qantas-frequent-flyer-access-to-emirates-lounges-what-you-need-to-know for more on this.

A "Single entry" is not a Membership per se, so I don't believe the normal rules apply.
If this is the free single entry that comes with the award of Qantas FF Silver status, I believe this can only be used in Qantas lounges.

moa999: yes, I was speaking specifically about Qantas Club membership, not one-time passes - I'll check that with QF!

Thanks David...I guess I will make more use of the SYD / MEL International Business Lounge... and forego the EK Lounge in DXB...
On the topic of Lounges - does anyone know if the QF Lounge in BNE will be open to accomodate the EK Flights at Night... Or only EK Lounge???
