Quick question - going to the UK but I booked my flight late, so I'm flying emirates and my girlfriend is flying qatar (she booked earlier). We are flying roughly the same time. As a gold ff will we both be able to use the lounge? Thanks
I highly doubt they will allow you to use the lounge as you are not on the same flight. And in this case, you guys will be on a different carrier too. However, it doesn't hurt your chances in being really nice to the lounge attendant and they may let you through.
Yes, I agree with Waynec, it really depends what flights you are on and what carriers you are using, and the times you are travellig. You are best off to contact Qatar Airways and/or Emirates, or clarify your question.
I presume you hold Gold status with QFF and you're speaking of the Qantas International Business Lounge at Melbourne? If so, then your girlfriend won't be allowed into the Qantas lounge (according to the rules) because Qatar has no reciprocal lounge access arrangements with Qantas.
That said, and as WayneC advised – your best bet is just to front up to the lounge with your girlfriend and ask very nicely, with your most genuine smile. But be fully prepared for a 'sorry, but no' reply.
