Yeah there's one land side that's pretty nice. I did the same itinerary as you. Day rate was insane though, something like $500 (and definitely not worth that). I might have got unlucky so check prices online first.
You could try the Sama Sama, they have airside and groundside hotels. The groundside hotel is very comfortable and they have a buggy service from the terminal to the hotel.
Sama Sama groundside is very nice, but pricey. If you smile, they may give you an upgrade to the premium floor which is excellent -- free breakfast, and some food throughout the day.
I found the Sama Sama to be way too expensive for what I needed it for - essentially a bed and a shower, so last time I decided to try out the Capsule Time capsule hotel at klia2 - I found it to be cheap and functional - about $40 for a 6 hour stay includes luggage storage, shower facilities and Wi-Fi.
It's on the KLIA2 transport hub level, from KLIA, take the KLIA Ekspres or KLIA transit to klia2 (takes 2mins each way, costs RM2 or RM1.80 if you pay with Mastercard on the self-service kiosks).
I have always stayed at the Sama Sama. Great hotel, probably 5 or 10 minute walk from KLIA baggage (connected to terminal) but buggies are happy to whisk you and your luggage along.
Was upgraded to a crew room one. Bed was wider than I am tall (although not saying much :-) )
I know the First or Business Class Golden Lounge run by Malaysia Airlines have nap rooms. There are showers and a great spread of food. Does anyone know whether it's possible to nap overnight in those rooms? If so it would then obviate the need to leave the airport to get to a hotel.

I had a 13 hour layover at KLIA and the Nap room was excellent and very quiet .The chaise Lounges were very comfortable

Hi all
Does anyone know if KL airport has a hotel within the airport. I'm arriving on Oman air in the morning and don't leave till the evening back to Aus.
Thanks in advance

Be careful between KLIA and KLIA2 (mostly LCCs) - some distance apart.
Oman Air operates from KLIA. If flying Malaysian to Australia then that departs KLIA, if AirAsiaX then it's KLIA2.
Airside you have SamaSama Express in both KLIA and KLIA2.
Landside (short walk or shuttle buggy) you have the 5* Sama Sama Hotel at KLIA or the Tune Hotel at KLIA2

Thanks everyone. Just booked the sama sama express airside for $89. As long as there is a shower and a bed I will be happy.
