Do you think QF will issue a corona virus waiver for SYD-BKK(-TLV) ?

The Israel Ministry of Health advised yesterday (Sunday) that all passengers travelling BKK-TLV would be subject to 14 day self-quarantine on arrival in TLV, along with those arriving ex-HKG / China. I would like to perhaps therefore change an upcoming itinerary to SYD-JNB-TLV to avoid this problem. But QF have not issued any waivers for BKK at this time, meaning I would have to wear the full cost of an itinerary cancellation at this point. Do you think it is likely QF will soon issue a waiver for BKK ?

Rather than asking us about predicting the future, I think that you first need to contact Qantas on this matter and ask if you can change your itinerary given the statement by Israel.

Why would they issue a waiver for BKK? Australia doesn't have an issue with Thailand, Israel does. If you took out your travel insurance before the virus was declared by WHO you could talk to them about a claim for cancellation/schedule change costs.

Currently going through the exact same issue atm. Flying with Singapore airlines to Bangkok and then with El Al to Tel Aviv. I have spoken to qantas and they say nothing they can do at this stage despite smart traveller website now saying non citizens will not be allowed into the country if they have entered Thailand in the previous 14 days.

Just have to wait and see if the severity of the outbreak decreases or qantas add Israel to the policy.
