Any ideas on how to extend Asia Miles (AM) due to expire later this year? AM are suggesting booking up to 365 days in advance, which isn't at all helpful with the current situation. Thanks in advance.
To clarify, I suspect these will be miles earned in 2019 or earlier, and are subject to the older Asia Miles expiry rules (in that unlike new miles, simply earning a few more won't extend their validity)?

That's correct Chris. Asia Miles are being pretty stubborn in not willing to extend the points in these times, when other hotel and airline loyalty programs are even extending, even if only by a few months.
I have just been through the process of trying to extend miles expiring end June. I communicated with Cathay Asia Miles by email and telephone asking initially for 12 months extension, then 6 then 3 months, stating almost every international airline had extended flyer loyalty miles, even Singapore Airlines. I tried and tried, six or more times and once or twice even got through to a supervisor, but each time my plea for common sense fell on deaf ears. Makes one consider hard where points will be transferred next time I am looking for somewhere to place points.
Earning more miles or transferring will not extend your pre 2019 miles.
The furthest out you can book is 353 days.
