When Jetstar starts using it Boeing 787s domestically, it could:
1) leave the business cabin empty
2) offer business class and compete with Virgin
3) use the cabin and charge a fee for extra extra leg room
4) other option
What do people think will happen?

Currently you can purchase an economy seat and pay extra with a Max bundle and get the J seat, or purchase it at extra leg room rates and select a J seat

Another option:
J sold as Y, with Domestic Y BoB service.
Similar to Spirit Airlines' 'Big Front Seat' service.
Basically only paying for the legroom and comfy chair.

Can confirm from booking (SYD-CNS early September), that they are sold as extra legroom seats. The first 9 rows of economy seating are then classed as upfront.

When the services were announced JQ made it clear they were being sold as extra legroom without any business class trimmings.

Leaving the front cabin empty does horrible things to a passenger aircraft's centre of gravity as evidenced by a recent Alitalia A320 tail strike from Milan airport at a speed of about 42 knots - this occurred because all the passengers for an intermediate stop and their baggage were loaded at the front of the aircraft

It was stated by JQ when they announced the introduction of the 787’s that the business class section will be used for extra legroom only not business class service. So won’t be empty.
