Something needs to be done about this vax passport app to work properly. I have tried to register with it 9 times and it failed each time. I get all the way through to scanning the biosecurity aspect and it crashes. I understand a number of people have had similar frustrations. I have no issue with Qantas insisting on something like this but the glitches need to be sorted quick smart.
I would hope that any government or company that requires vaccine evidence will have an alternative way that doesn't rely on assuming that everyone will always have a working smart phone that is compatible with their chosen app.

Judging from the adverse reports / reviews of the IATA Android version on the Google App Store, it seems that the majority of failures are related to the facial photo uploads section that apparently don't pass muster for comparison purposes with the passport photograph that is on file with the Dept. of Immigration.
As a general comment, there can be multiple reasons for this, including:
1) facial / physical changes (you now have a beard / glasses / different hair colour, are now partially bald etc)
2) significant lighting changes (light background on file / dark (er) background on submission
3) quality of photograph submitted (ie: too close / too far, images not 'front-on', images where you are smiling etc
Remember, the Dept has always had quite specific photographic 'guidelines' for passport photographs .. and we all change over time. Regrettably, for all the clever biometric tools the Dept has, it hasn't extended them to this app yet.
If you're still having issues with the app, I'd be inclined to whip off a quick email to the developers and explain the problems you are having. They will have greater insight into what may be going wrong with your failed submissions than most on here.
on they went, till the activity was pretty done, and the footwear stood equipped to be used upon the desk. this become long before dawn; and then they bustled away as short as lightning.
