Introduction
Nestled on a sweeping bend of the Singapore River, Fraser Residence River Promenade is a name you may not be familiar with. The Robertson Quay apartment hotel only opened in November 2023, after all. That needs to change.
An intriguing blend of the old and new, incorporating three converted warehouses from 1919 (previously home to Zouk nightclub), Fraser is a tranquil retreat delivering all the mod cons, within easy reach of attractions such as Gardens by the Bay.
Location & Impressions
Home to 72 serviced apartments, Fraser Residence River Promenade enjoys a great location close to Havelock MRT station, and only a short walk from Zion Hawker Market and the adjacent Great World City Shopping Centre.
One of the highlights of our stay was access to the riverside paths, which can be reached via the side gates. These scenic routes are ideal for a relaxed stroll, while complimentary bikes and e-scooter rentals can be arranged at the hotel.
A shuttle bus service is conveniently provided for trips to Orchard and other destinations.
Room
We stayed in the Studio Executive – a cleverly-designed room with an upmarket feel, sheer curtains, timber-look floors and comfy seating, plus a modern kitchenette stocked with everything you might need for a day, week or longer.
In the tech stakes, the studio offered the convenience of wireless charging, a 55" Samsung smart TV paired with a Bang & Olufsen Bluetooth speaker, while the kitchenette included a small hotplate, water filter and microwave.
The spacious bathroom was fitted with a Dyson hair dryer, rain shower, and premium bath amenities, while a washer-dryer unit was another thoughtful addition.
One feature we particularly appreciated was a small window that could be opened, allowing us to enjoy fresh air without relying solely on air-conditioning.
A broad selection of capsule coffee pods (much better than the meagre three or four pods typically offered in other hotels) and tea blends were also provided.
Eat
Wrapping around the reception and lobby area is The Living Room – Fraser’s answer to a club lounge, which served as a perfect spot to relax, work or socialise throughout the day.
This was enhanced by complimentary continental breakfast in the mornings, followed by evening drinks and canapés.
For more substantial fare, head to Jack Kim House, which offers a playful, modern spin on cuisine from North, South, and Southeast Asia. We particularly enjoyed the deconstructed laksa – a creative twist on a local classic.
For those looking to enjoy a more authentic, low-key taste of Singaporean culture and cuisine, the nearby Zion Hawker Market is an absolute must-visit. Try the fried kway teow.
Relax
The property’s leisure amenities include a 25-metre outdoor lap pool, alongside a fully-equipped 24/7 fitness centre. Complimentary water and fresh fruit is available in the gym.
While the pool is not as expansive as some of the infinity pools offered by rival hotels – the walled-in location also doesn’t help – it was still a nice spot for a refreshing dip.
Verdict
With its modern facilities and inviting communal spaces (particularly The Living Room), Fraser Residence River Promenade makes a good choice for business or leisure.
However, the location may not be as convenient as some of the more central locations, if you’re in town for business and likely to be attending meetings. That said, it does act as a good base if planning on having others come to you.

Hmmm interesting. Not a bad location, nicely tucked away from the hustle and bustle. Also not a ridiculous price for Singapore. Well worth considering.
