Singapore Airlines brings Book the Cook to Brisbane flights

Singapore Airlines' business class and premium economy passengers flying from Brisbane will soon be able to pre-order their inflight meal via the airline's Book the Cook service: joining high flyers from Sydney and Melbourne – and soon, Perth as well – who also have this option.

Book the Cook doesn't just guarantee the traveller's preferred meal choice, but also provides a range of extra dining options that aren't found on the regular inflight menu.

Up the front in business class, there's everything from a chargrilled beef fillet in green peppercorn sauce through to seared salmon steak and Cantonese roasted duck...

... while in premium economy, choose from favourites like Indian chicken biryani, Nasi Lemak, or even a lighter snack such as banana bread with mixed berry compote:

Brisbane passengers can begin placing their orders from September 25 via the 'manage my booking' portal of the Singapore Airlines website, for flights departing on or after October 1.

Business class travellers flying from Perth can also begin ordering and enjoying Book the Cook dishes from the same dates.

From both cities, orders are accepted up to 24 hours before a flight's scheduled departure time, which gives the airline catering teams a chance to prepare and load your not-on-the-regular-menu dish.

Singapore Airlines has been ramping up its Brisbane presence in recent times, with the launch of a fourth daily Brisbane-Singapore flight in August, and a pledge that three of its four daily flights will be served by Airbus A350 jets by early 2018, with the airline's latest-generation business class seats.

The A350s also bring Singapore Airlines' premium economy service to Brisbane for the first time, and follow other recent upgrades for Queensland flyers including fully-flat beds on selected Boeing 777 flights, and the opening of a new Brisbane SilverKris business class lounge last year

Good to know, this explains why I can't select for my PE flight next year yet.

I've already had Book the Cook traveling from Brisbane to London in July this year.In fact I was surprised not to be offered it when I booked my flights for this December. The meals were excellent.

Singapore Airlines currently offers BTC on flights from Singapore to Brisbane, and from Singapore to London among other routes, but not from Brisbane to Singapore: that's what's changing here.
