Singapore Airlines to launch new Boeing 787 business class on March 28
Singapore Airlines will preview its all-new regional business class seat on March 28, with selected members of the airline's elite PPS Club frequent flyer tier among the first to see them and sit in them.
The Star Alliance member will follow the delivery of its first Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner into Singapore that morning with an invitation-only soiree at Changi Airport's private JetQuay VIP terminal from 8pm, followed by a walk-through of the newly-arrived Dreamliner for the chosen high flyers.
The forward-facing seats are said to have a 1-2-1 layout, using a staggered design where each seat dovetails into the ones in front and behind, while each passenger has direct access to the aisle.
That the seats convert into a fully lie-flat bed rather than an angled 'sloping sleeper' will be welcome on overnight flights.
The same seat will also appear in a regional version of the Airbus A350-900 jets, which like the Boeing 787-10's will forego premium economy to fly in a two-class configuration which the airline believes is best suited to short- and medium-range flights of up to eight hours.
Singapore Airlines' initial Boeing 787-10 schedule will see daily flights to Osaka and Perth in May, with the jets eventually taking over most Boeing 777-200 routes.
Australian Business Traveller will travel on the Boeing 787-10's delivery flight from South Carolina to Singapore as a guest of Singapore Airlines, and we'll be sharing more details on this in our Community section.

Sounds like their regional seat is going to be better than the long-haul one.

That has got to be the smallest fully flat J seat I've ever seen - surely they use tiny models and she still looks bigger than the seat!
