Australia's first Plaza Premium lounges are now open at Sydney Airport's international T1 terminal – and yes, we said lounges, as in "more than one lounge".
The Hong Kong-based airport lounge company manages both the American Express Lounge and the SkyTeam Lounge, which happen to be located next door to one another near Gate 24.
The American Express Lounge is open only to select Amex card-holders and their guests.
However, the SkyTeam lounge allows travellers to pay their way in at the door (of course, there's free entry for eligible passengers on SkyTeam alliance airlines including first class, business class and top-tier frequent flyers).

Paid access is priced at $77 for two hours and $132 for five hours, and includes use of the lounge's three showers.
Unfortunately, entry isn't available to holders of a Priority Pass, which is recognised at some but not all Plaza Premium lounges - would enjoy free entry.

So has Skyteam taken over the old Qantas FF lounge? I remember going down an escalator to their lounge maybe a decade or more ago...

I checked with Premium Plaza head-office in HK today - their SYD lounge is scheduled to open next Tuesday, December 9th.
Unfortunately Priority Pass won't grant access to the lounge :(

I asked via email but never got a reply HOWEVER it looks like it's the same lounge as the upcoming AMEX lounge (operated by Plaza Premium Lounge) which AMEX reports opening on December 16th at T1 near gate 24...
Free entry for selected AMEX cards, details at https://amexnetwork.com.au/goodgoing/ (click on "Complimentary Lounge Access").
So it looks like the new Premium Plaza lounge won't provide free access for Priority Pass however it will for selected AMEX Cardholders (unlimited for Centurion and Platinum Charge)

Can they bring guests in? I wad reading amex terms and condition. It stated both main card holder and supplement card holder can enter the lounge. I am the supplement card holder and my husband is the policy holder. Does this mean we both can get in at the same time. It did say two visits per year. It woulf be great if we both can get in at the same time.
