Government hits back at Qantas on July restart for overseas flights
Jan 05, 2021, 08:11 PMGiven what’s happened with airline refunds over the last year (and not just Qantas) unless you had a cast iron contractual commitment that you got a full refund within x days if flight cancelled then, at least in my view, you’d have to be a total idiot to start booking what can only b...

British Airways brings its Boeing 787-9 to Sydney, Singapore
Dec 08, 2020, 08:47 PMGreat point well made. Also worth noting that many UK businesses mandate using BA as first choice for bookings and whilst some do get a choice, many business travellers have to fly on the carrier of their employers choice. Now being based in UK I find myself using BA simply because its the easies...

Review: Review: Zoom travel insurance cover, claims and more [2022]
Nov 20, 2020, 09:16 PMChris, that's a great summary. It would appear, at least to this untrained eye, that some of the exclusions and ambiguous wording that you mention here make the policy of dubious benefit. I say this without the benefit of having checked, but surely there must be some countries or 'official bodies...

Cathay Pacific cuts flights to London, New York, Seattle, Washington
Nov 18, 2020, 08:48 PMIndeed, hardly a surprise. LGW was essentially an overflow due to slot availability when LHR was 'full' - we saw similar expansion to LGW from Qatar, Emirates and EVA as well. As and when demand returns to pre-pandemic levels then we may see this route re-start, but until then its probably diffic...

Why Virgin Australia should start charging for meals in its lounges
Oct 30, 2020, 11:23 PMI completely agree, my point was that there is still an awful lot of unnecessary travel. There will absolutely always be a place for a fair amount of it, but in my experience of working in large multinationals, it would be my firm view that a fair proportion is not as necessary as people imagined...

Traveller etiquette
Mar 03, 2021, 12:25 AMPersonal view is that in situations like that then cabin crew should be saying something. I would welcome clear signage in lounges and perhaps on board that phones / tablets can only be used with headphones. It has certainly become more of an issue.

New Comment Posts Never Appear
Jan 05, 2021, 08:20 PMSid. As an aside - it would also be helpful if, when a post is held for moderation, that you get a message telling you that is happening. I’ve been guilty of reposting thinking a comment has failed to go through when it has gone for moderation. Most other sites seem to let you know when tha...
