Virgin Australia boosts Brisbane flights to Bundaberg, Moranbah

Virgin Australia will increase flights between Brisbane and the Queensland's regional hubs of Bundaberg and Moranbah from next month.

There'll be an extra four flights per week between Brisbane and Bundaberg from February 23rd, taking the total number of services on this busy route from 14 to 18.

The new flights will depart Brisbane at 5.05pm on Sunday and Monday afternoons, and leave Bundaberg the next morning at 6.10am.

An extra eight flights per week will be added between Brisbane and Moranbah as of February 19th, lifting the total weekly tally from 34 to 42, although Virgin Australia notes that some of the existing  services will be rescheduled "to better meet the needs of the market."

All of the new services will use Virgin's nimble 68-seat ATR Turboprop aircraft.

"Today’s announcement is part of our commitment to remain versatile and responsive to the needs of our customers" said Judith Crompton, Virgin Australia's Chief Commercial Officer.

"We commenced operating to Bundaberg and Moranbah last year, bringing strong competition to those cities. We are very happy with the support we have received from the local community to date and now we are responding to growing demand."
