Win one million frequent flyer points with American Express

One million Membership Rewards, Qantas or Virgin Australia Velocity frequent flyer points are up for grabs this month thanks to American Express.

Through July 31, customers with any rewards card issued directly by American Express are in with a shot at the seven-figure bounty, which could take you around the globe in business or even first class with a partner in tow.

An American Express spokeswoman confirmed to Australian Business Traveller that the prizewinner can hold a Membership Rewards card or a direct-earn Qantas or Virgin Australia Velocity card.

Excluded are bank-issued American Express cards such as Commonwealth Bank Diamond Awards, Westpac Earth/Altitude Black, ANZ Rewards Black and NAB Velocity Rewards Premium.

Eligible cardholders can enter by visiting the My Account area of the AMEX website, signing in, visiting the ‘Offers and Places’ page and saving any deal to their card.

When utilised, American Express’ offers typically provide an automatic statement credit after spending a certain amount with a merchant – although there’s no requirement to spend anything to be in with a shot.

That makes entering the competition rather quick, painless and also free, so why not ‘save’ every available offer to maximise your chances?

The lucky winner will see the points hitting their current loyalty account, whether that be American Express Membership Rewards, or Qantas or Velocity Frequent Flyer for the airline-affiliated cards.

In a separate competition, Virgin Australia Velocity members could also win another million points just by adding their email address to Virgin Australia Holidays’ mailing list.
