AccorHotels plans new So Sofitel Kuala Lumpur hotel, residences

AccorHotels is gearing up for an ambitious expansion in Malaysia with 797 rooms to be built by 2020, split into a 207-room So Sofitel Kuala Lumpur hotel and a separate So Sofitel Residences with space for a further 590 occupants.

Set among a larger mix-used development with an office tower and its own shopping centre, So Sofitel is Accor’s luxury lifestyle brand with many of the five star touches you’d expect of a regular Sofitel, but with a bigger focus on designers, fashion and being social.

Guests will be within walking distance of the iconic Petronas Towers, the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre and are smack bank in the centre of the city’s KLCC business area.

On the hotel side you’ll find four food and beverage outlets, an extensive pool with deck and terrace, a So Fit gym, So Spa, signature Club Lounge, business centre and several function and event spaces.

Over at the Residences: a lounge, extensive gym with studio and yoga room, separate pools for kids and adults, a games room, kids playground, a function room and sky gardens where guests can host visitors around a barbecue with great views of the Kuala Lumpur skyline.

The So Sofitel Kuala Lumpur hotel joins other Sofitel Sos in the region including in Singapore, Bangkok, Mauritius and most recently in Hua Hin, Thailand.

Sounds fantastic, and knowing Malaysian hotel prices, this will be pretty competitively priced!
