Travellers visiting Dubai from early 2019 can unwind at the new Sofitel Dubai Wafi hotel, set to be the largest Sofitel in the Middle East: featuring 501 guestrooms including 86 suites under the familiar AccorHotels banner, along with 97 serviced extended-stay residences.
Rooms will range from 55 square metres through to a palatial 625 sqm, with many guests tempted to explore the hotel with its Asian specialty restaurant, gastro pub, “unique destination restaurant”, bar and lounge, a French lobby café, an all-day restaurant and a pool bar all making an appearance.
Joining that, a day spa, in-house gym, kids club, private cabanas and outdoor pools – yes, plural – plus 10 meeting rooms for business travellers and with the Dubai International Financial Centre, Dubai Healthcare City and Dubai International Conference and Exhibition Centre all within easy reach.
Of course, Dubai’s Wafi Shopping Mall is also close by, with members of the Le Club AccorHotels loyalty program expected to be able to earn and redeem points at the Sofitel Dubai Wafi.
Accor currently has 39 properties in the United Arab Emirates – including in Downtown Dubai, at the city’s Palm Jumeirah and at the Corniche in Abu Dhabi – in addition to 23 further hotels under development.
Dubai is the home of Qantas partner airline Emirates and serves as a springboard for Qantas’ daily Sydney-London flights – and until March 2018, for its Melbourne-London flights also, being replaced by Perth as part of the Roo’s new Melbourne-Perth-London route.
