Sydney will gain an extra four weekly non-stop flights to Beijing over the busy summer and early autumn travel period with Star Alliance member Air China ramping up services from the Chinese capital.
From November 16 2015 through March 26 2016, CA194 flies to Beijing on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays – leaving the gate at 3pm in Sydney and arriving in Beijing at 11:50pm that evening.
In reverse, CA193 leaves Beijing at 10:30pm on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, touching down in Australia at 1:10pm the following day.
An Air China spokesperson confirmed the addition of these new seasonal flights with Australian Business Traveller, which can now be booked via the Air China website:
Operated by a twin-aisle Airbus A330, business class passengers can rest in fully-flat beds stretching for 190cm from tip to tail…
… while travellers in economy each have a personal, on-demand seatback entertainment system and 32 inches of space (‘pitch’) from headrest to headrest.
Air China’s existing daily flights between Sydney and Beijing (CA174/173) continue to run throughout this period, as do the airline’s three-times-weekly Sydney-Shanghai services.

What a shame they didn't bring the 777-300ER back. I was looking forward to book CA first class

Not worth looking forward too, trust me. The seat was OK for first class, but the food and service were decidedly subpar - worse then most business classes.

Believe me, they have nice 747-8 and 777-300ER but their service is horrible in Economy. My experiences in CA has been in A330's Their some A333 have “Premium Economy” that is just extra legroom (not much) but food is the same in economy, their selection of soft drinks is not good, food taste the same that it looks… not good at all. The Flight attendants service in Business Class is good and they are very kind and looks professional (not good uniforms), but not the food… the food is just not there. Western dishes could be a bit better but not that great. Unfortunately I try to not use CA as I do with UA, their on board service and food are not great in Economy and just OK in Business….even changing menus as UA did it recently in their “Premium Cabins”. NOT WORTHY flying CA unless you want to save money, but do not expect much and bring your own food and Coke..because they serve Pepsi product. No Pepsi Max (no sugar) in Economy only on Business Class for domestic flights. Also, miles given from CA on other miles program are very low or nothing...check that too.
