Seattle Airport will play host to a new-concept American Express ‘Centurion Studio’ lounge in 2015 – a sized-down version of the Centurion Lounges in other cities such as New York and Las Vegas.

Inside, American Express cardholders can enjoy basic amenities such as free Wi-Fi, power outlets for recharging laptops and smartphones and free snacks and beverages.

“While The Centurion Lounges have been tremendously popular with our Card Members, space on that scale is not always available,” said Lisa Durocher, SVP of charge cards and benefits at American Express.

However, “our goal is to have a presence in airports they frequent the most."

Once opened, visits will be free for users of the American Express Platinum Charge card, or the $5,000/year invitation-only American Express Centurion card – both of which can also bring in their immediate family or one travel companion at no extra cost.

It’s yet to be seen if other American Express cardholders will be able to pay for access at the door as they can at the fully-fledged Centurion Lounges for a fee of US$50 per person.

American Express recently opened its latest Centurion Lounge at San Francisco International Airport, with Miami International to be added to the AMEX map by early next year.

I am an ANZ Platinum AMEX/Qantas FF cardholder. Would this allow access to the AMEX lounge?

Hi bm7500,

"It’s yet to be seen if other American Express cardholders will be able to pay for access at the door as they can at the fully-fledged Centurion Lounges for a fee of US$50 per person."

That applies to all other American Express cards (whether issued directly by AMEX or by other financial institutions, such as ANZ).

Hi Chris,

Hopefully they also allow this option at the studio version in Seattle

Thanks for your response.
