British Airways will embark on a million-pound makeover for its flagship first class and business class airport lounges at London Heathrow's T5 terminal in the next few years.
The first class and business class lounges will inherit an evolution of the new-look BA lounge design applied to the airline’s recently-opened lounges at London’s Gatwick Airport (below) and Singapore’s Changi Airport.
Also in for a luxe redo is the exclusive Concorde Room, which BA reserves for its first class passengers and elite Executive Club members holding either a Concorde Room Card or invitation-only black Premier card.
(The BA First Class Lounge, on the other hand, is in fact the domain of almost-top-tier frequent flyers such as BA Executive Club Gold members, Qantas Platinums and other Oneworld Emerald-equivalents).
Other lounges in the works and slated for a ribbon-cutting in the second half of 2018 include New York’s JFK airport, which will see a substantially larger first class and business class lounges with their own dedicated pre-flight dining rooms; and San Francisco, which will gain a new loft level allowing direct boarding onto the upper deck of an Airbus A380.
In the meantime, New York’s Concorde Room will undergo a revamp extending through to October this year, while the London Heathrow Concorde Room will receive a ‘light touch’ refresh including “new furniture and a refreshed look and feel."

The Concorde Room at LHR needs a more updated Boardroom/Study. The technology and equipment in there is outdated and past its prime. This is low hanging fruit, Mr Cruz.

BA are playing catch up and don't realise how many people they have disenfranchised over the past few years, not to mention their recent change in the economy cabin throughout Europe. They now rank as the worst airline in the OW alliance, whilst American are lifting their game, OW Emeralds dont pay for food in Economy & they serve everyone a free tea, coffee or soft drink, BA are going the other way. Their First Class lounge @ LHR T5 is at best a business lounge for Cathay & Qantas, never mind OW partenr Qatar or the other ME3 players. The Virgin Atlantic lounge in LHR T3 runs rings around BA's first lounge!

BA need to Focus on Ground Services at LHR, The Overcrowded bus transfer from T3 to T5 for First Class Connections are worse than most 3rd World Countries. Other First Class T5 Bus Services using gate A10 come a close Second. Meanwhile if the rumoured closure of the Concorde Room White Door now means a journey up and down Escalators and a significant walk for Connecting First Class Passengers. Sorry BA its just not Good Enough the wat you treat your High End Premium Customers.
