BlackBerry app of the week: Good Food Guide

Looking for a great restaurant for your next business lunch or dinner? The app you want is the Good Food Guide, an interactive version of the annual Sydney Morning Herald/Age restaurant bible of the same name.

For $9.99 you get all the content and reviews that are found in the printed editions of both the Sydney and Melbourne guides. If you were to buy both editions in a book shop it'd cost $59.98, which makes this app almost a no-brainer.

The app uses the BlackBerry's inbuilt GPS receiver to show all good restaurants that are close to your current location. However, just like the book, you can also search for restaurants based on an A-Z city-wide listing, by cuisine type and by suburb.

Unfortunately, the BlackBerry app doesn't yet have the nifty book-this-restaurant button that the iPhone app has, but the Good Food Guide staff say they hope to add this capability to the BlackBerry app soon.

Good Food Guide for BlackBerry costs $9.99 and is available for download from BlackBerry App World.
