Cathay Pacific airport lounges swap Solus chair for new Solo
Cathay Pacific's new-look airport lounges will be complemented by new-look seating designed specifically for the airline.
Dubbed the Solo and crafted by CX lounge guru Ilse Crawford, the Solo meshes perfectly with the relaxed residential vibe of Cathay's latest lounges.
The Solo is a rethinking of the Solus workstation which has become a hallmark element of Cathay's previous airport lounges blueprint.

Like its sharply business-minded predecessor, the Solo offers a high-walled nook where travellers can work or relax.
Each seat comes with a side table, reading lamp and a coat hook.
But the plushly padded Solo seats are noticeably more spacious and more comfortable.
The Solo made its debut earlier this month at Cathay Pacific's new Taipei lounge and will soon be added to other new lounges such as Bangkok, Manila and Haneda, along with Vancouver, Heathrow and Hong Kong's The Pier Business Class when those open in 2016.
Singapore Airlines has also invested in bespoke 'productivity pods' for its own new-look lounges.
The pods in the first class lounge (above) and business class lounge (below) borrow subtle design elements from Singapore Airlines' new first class and business class seating.

Personally I prefer Steelcase products - they're more comfortable - but the black and red ones.. now those look sexy!

Will they be selling them? Because I'd LOVE to have a Solus chair in my apartment.

"Shittest things in the world"? In a world with ISIS, ebola and reality television, that's a very big call.

Don't fix what's not broken. The Solus chairs are comfy to work in or just to sit in. Add a few USB ports and universal plug and they'd be perfect.

I think I prefer the Singapore Airlines lounge chairs - they offer a bit more privacy (I just wish they reclined! hehe)
