China Southern is beginning to build up its Canton Route, which pivots on the airline's main hub at Guangzhou, with the launch of flights to Moscow.
Starting June 19, the Guangzhou-Moscow service will run three times per week on CZ's Airbus A330-200 aircraft.
“We’re thrilled to offer direct flights to Moscow on our quickly expanding Canton Route over Guangzhou using the latest Airbus A330-200 aircraft with flatbed comfort in Business Class and personal seatback TV screens throughout,” enthuses Henry He, China Southern's General Manager Australia/New Zealand.
“As the gateway to Russia, Moscow is a phenomenal destination and we are delighted to offer Australians a smoother, more affordable link to this exciting part of the world.”
To kickstart the Moscow service, from March 1 to 31 China Southern will offer fares return economy fares from Australia to Moscow via Guangzhou from $1,297 (including taxes), with travel dates between March 1 and October 31, 2013.
China Southern flies from Sydney. Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth, and its Canton Route already offers daily connections through to London via Guanghzhou, making it one of the increasing number of alternatives to the traditional Kangaroo Route.

This is much better then their current option to Moscow with narrow body from Guangzhou with a 2hr fuel stop in Urumqi (NW China)
