I am hopeful that QANTAS will react positively to the feedback from QFF members with regard to the value of QFF points and redemtions to Europe. QFF management seem to be in denial about the points quotes you get when searching for reward flights on the web page. I have personally seen quotes in excess of 1M points for a One Way Business Class SYD_LHR. The managment refuted this during the Senate enquiry today.
They may be right but only according to the silly rules they make up. Who wants to pay 1m points for a flight when there should be rewards available for 100k (ish). Point is they never have any rewards flights available these days.
Availability aside which is a major issue, most of it comes down to education. Many of the general public just don't understand the process when it comes to accessing classic rewards.
The submissions to the enquiry tend to be irate passengers quoting points plus pay rates, rather than a devaluation.
A huge part of the problem is also the fact that they
A) have made it so incredibly convoluded to find classic award seats on the website that most people don't understand the difference between classic awards and any seat awards. To the everyday person, the website is very difficult to navigate, unless you use the Multi City search (even for a one way).
B) QF release little to none classic awards on London and New York routes. Finding a business or even premium economy seat on either of those routes is like hens teeth.
They should have a guaranteed amount of award seats for all frequent flyers on every flight like BA do!

It's not points plus pay, its points only. Try it yourself.
However, I am seeing a few more economy reward seats SYD to LHR out until Feb24 for 55,200 +$243.00 fees.

That's exactly what Plus Plus Pay is. You can find out more about it here:
However this is the key information that you should be aware of:
What are Points Plus Pay - Flights?
Points Plus Pay - Flights allow you to use your Qantas Points to book any available seat on a Qantas flight with a QF flight number, Jetstar flight with a JQ flight number or selected partner airlines when travelling on a Qantas fare and booking on qantas.com. You'll also earn Qantas Points and Status Credits on eligible flights too.
Points are variable and will be quoted at the time of booking - a minimum number of points applies. The points redemption amount includes taxes, fees and carrier charges. You can use all points to pay for a Points Plus Pay - Flight. After selecting your preferred fares, you can use the Points Plus Pay slider on the 'Options' page to change the mix of cash and points.

Maybe if they made the website more user friendly without trying to upsell Points plus pay, it might not cause so much confusion. Sure, allow the option, but show the Reward seats by default first.
TBH, i just got 4 classic reward business tickets released to me (possibly because i'm platinum) on SYD-BLR, but i got none when i requested between BNE-LAX. When seats are limited, and there are more people who are keen to pay full fare or use all their points on non classic reward tickets, the whole thing gets skewed towards QF.
With travel demand softening due to economic weakness globally, you are going to find lower fares (not ultra low, as fuel is still high), and more points based tickets available to redeem.
I agree QF's website is very basic and only returns errors when you ask something very simple, but when it comes to points, QF have sold the idea of collecting points from groceries etc would get them to europe, but in reality, that is not possible, unless you are gold and above. When QF quotes 400,000 points to go to europe, this is because all their classic seats are gone to frequent flyers, and the layman ends up with a toaster....

Econmony Classic Reward SYD to LHR 02/02/24 = 55,200 points +$243.00
The $243.00 fees in this case are $140.00 Carrier Charges + $103.00 taxes and third party fees.
Points for Classic Flight Rewards do not include taxes, fees and carrier charges payable to Qantas or third parties.

It sounds like Qantas is right. You need to selectto chose Reward Seats. The 1M+ prices are points+pay and not reward seats
