Long story short I’m a QFF Gold/OWS booked on an intra Europe Finnair business light fare. I’m wondering if anyone can confirm if I’ll still get my ow sapphire entitlements? My ticket says 0 checked bags and I will have one 20kg bag with me. Going off the old ET article I should be okay. But the wording on the Finnair and Qantas websites are a bit vague, unfortunately their chat-bot did not understand my enquiry. I am leaving from an outstation better to be armed with facts if I need to argue my case. Hope the ET brains trust can provide some info.
Yea, if one believe that our Australian business between Melbourne and Sydney is sux then (s)he should try "Eurobusiness". Or should not. If one dare to try then as least ask for champagne - they do service it but only on request and from those funny minuscule bottles. Basically IMHO "Eurobusiness" only worth asked money with huge discount and only for lounge access. But again generally speaking "Eurolounges" sux.
You get one 23kg bag and you get lounge access. Standard Euro-business seating, unless you get an A350/A330 with long haul seating that I love, or an Embraer where you don't get the empty middle seat (as there isn't a middle seat).
I'm QF Gold, flew on Finnair "super light" economy fare this year and got all the perks: lounge access, extra legroom seat selection, free carry-on and 1x check in.

Yes you get a checked bag even on a light fare (different from BA, beware). In a recent BER-HEL flight, booked as light economy they had no issues checking my luggage as a OWE benefit, and even asked if I wanted to check in my carry on bag for free to free up space in the cabin.
I flew on a Finnair business lite fare Paris to Helsinki (transit) to Singapore as OWS a year ago. I received the free checked bag and lounge access with guest. I think I verified with Finnair before travelling to be sure I wouldn’t get a bag fee at checkin. Paid for one bag for wife. Highly recommended, only drawback is late departure from Helsinki means no connection to Perth on Qantas until the following day. I thought the seat on the CDG-HEL sector was fine, possibly because we got row 1.
Thanks for the answers, assumed it would be all good but because of BA’s bag policy thought it best to check. Flight has appeared in my Qantas app too so looks like my QFF number’s registered okay. Will be on the A350 for part of the journey, interested to check it out. I must say that BA’s baggage policy is crazy, completely devalues the alliance imo.
Recently flew Finnair with a Y Lite fare with OW Sapphire (QF Plat) and the ticket also had no luggage but upon check-in I got one suitcase checked in and the other was told I had to pay - luckily it was a pelican case and I was able to take it onboard with me on three legs from CPH to HEL to DFW onwards to SFO.

Just be aware, the new Business Class seat on AY is horrible and will leave you with a sore back.
