Status Match (QF Plat) denied by Alitalia - anyone else had the same issue?

I sent in a photo of my Qantas Frequent Flyer Platinum Card (Expiring July 2016) to Alitalia for their status match and got denied with a messaging stating "the Frequent Flyer card provided does not meet the requirements of the Status Match initiative.

I'm Velocity Platinum and had no issues getting a status match. 

Just going to apply now.. am also Velocity Platinum, can I ask what level you received from Alitalia?

have they postponed the ending date of the promotion? i heard it was up to the 31 of December 2015

I had no problem with QF gold, already have my Alitalia card sent in the mail. Just try again maybe?

I sent a copy of my QF Platinum card and was accepted a month or so ago. As Cameron said, maybe try again?

You should include proof it will be worth it to them in your request. Eg proof of past flights that could be routed by them and possible something to show you have bookings to be made or have made with them. 

No idea if you did that or not in your original request. 

My relative did a VA Gold request with CX and got Silver match. He had several CX and KA flights already booked to show it was worth it. 

It seems really hit and miss.

I submitted my VA Gold without any additional flight history and received Gold Alitalia status match.

Best advice would be to try again

I received a status match ages ago with Alitalia for my American Platinum - done & dusted.

I received Freccia Alata Plus Club valid until March 2017.

I received a Alitalia status match after submitting my request on 14/11/2015 just with a photograph of the front of my QF platinum FF card. Got FrecciaAlataPlus status (skyteam Elite Plus) valid until 27/3/2017.
