Will be interesting - but with such a high J and W I don't know how they would fit even 165 without going 9 abreast. Also 165/3 is 55 blocks of 3 seats.
I'm a bit more cynical - 31 max, 30 not out of the question: 42/28/165 is going to be tight I think, Y might depend on whether the premiums get the same or less than we're used to up there.
It seems a high ratio of premium and j and limited economy. Perhaps that the strategy, make economy less desirable in a 9 abreast config. and make the premium ecnomy more desirable and widen the gap.
I have little doubt we will see anything other than a nine-across 3-3-3 configuration in Qantas' Boeing 787 economy, as Alan Joyce has already (and accurately stated) "Nine-abreast is the standard."

Rumoured possible QF 787 config
Is this a feasible and a legitimate configuration?
Does it look like 8 or 9 abreast economy?

I'm hoping it's true, but just gotta wait and see what QF does. Would show that QF wants to be a leader, rather than follow the other sheep.

Well I imagine 32" I'm sure is the best that we can hope for with up to 5" recline.

AJ has already said it will be 9 abreast 787 economy. That is the industry standard. Hardly any operators have 8 abreast.

Qantas Boeing 787 will be three-class, likely 9-across in economy

Do you think that the Cozysuite will be highly likely since they have to make the economy different from Jetstar 787 Y seats?
