Has Qantas provided a specific date, other than just a vague 'October', for when they'll terminate the SYD-SIN-FRA QF5/6 route?

I was in FRA 3 weeks ago and the Country Manager, who has been with QF for 30 years, office and airport staff have been told that the station will be closing October 2013, and all will be made reduntant. I wish QF would reconsider as I really like using QF ex FRA . They could even re route via DXB and on to Bne. But this is all wishful thinking.

Considering EK & EY are at capacity for UAE-Germany slots, it'd be in both Emirates' and Qantas' interests to reroute via DXB, and possibly move from FRA to BER (which opens October 27th, hopefully - after being delayed 3 or 4 times).

The original question was 'when in October', not just 'when.' :)

I don't think that's much of a factor, but even so, the last day of daylight savings in Frankfurt is October 26th, 2013...

Tried to book QF6 for a last-minute flight two weeks ago and it was sold out in J from FRA to SIN for the next few days, so I ended up flying CX.  Loads/yields can't be bad if a business class flight can't be had for love nor money.

Just tried to change my date out of Fra the first week of  December and no seats in J to Sin/Mel over 2 days! Crazy move dropping this Euro port. It is even more difficult trying to get a seat on EK ex Fra, and with no hope of them getting additional traffic rights into Germany things look a bit grim. So for me it will probably be a move to over to CX from Oct 2013.
