I flew with them once years ago when they had that ridiculous color coded boarding system on a 717, and when I was not lined up on time for the first color coded boarding which I was entitled to they sent me down to the last color code for punishment.
I guess I would vote YES, they do deserve that moniker. On ya Jetstar!!!

Has been quite a few months now since I have flown JQ, but used to do so quite a bit domestically and to NZ. Only ever had a couple of delays, the worst being 3 hours after a plane went tech.

Now I have dropped from QF Gold to Silver I am less inclined to fly them (and QF for that matter) as having lounge access makes a big difference

You get what you pay for. They are certainly not the worlds worst. But anybody who complains about them needs to learn to open their wallet a bit further to get what they expect

I think it's undeserved.

Some JetStar flights/routes seem to have more issues with delays than others, eg DPS - CNS flights are almost always late.
I have had some trouble with delays and rescheduling, including a MEL - SYD flight that was cancelled, and they rebooked me on a flight 24 hours later. In that case I called and eventually got through to someone who had me on a flight a few hours later. They certainly leave room for improvement but for me they have been better at resolving the issues than some other airlines -Etihad, Air Canada and American come to mind.
I hate that a Star Kids donation is automatically selected when booking, but other extras seem to be off when booking now. I think that's a recent refinement of their online booking system.
One thing I love is their luggage is weight based, rather than piece based.

So in a world of 7billionish people, they 'surveyed' 11,000ish, and came to that conclusion! LOL. That sums up my feelings on 'polls' in general.

Yeh, I don't think it's justified. Kiwi's seem to have a love-hate relation with the airline but out of the several flights I've done with Jetstar this year, only one has been canceled and I was able to quickly rebook on the next flight.

I've had a worse customer experience with Etihad where the phone agent told me to basically bugger off and then hung up.

I've only flown Jetstar domestic but for a LCC, can't say i've had any complaints. Sure, the crew are a bit informal and there's no frills but you're not paying for SQ's professionalism or a full service carrier's perks! They've always been on time and i've not had any admin issues when i've had to follow things up. Their change fees are very high but, again, expected with low ticket cost! Compared to some European LCC, JQ are pretty good!

JQ service routes many others don't want to touch, that in itself leads to frustrations as no competition is available so many are forced to use JQ, that creates a negative bias before they even step on the plane, considering they have solid load factors and expanding network they must have many who don't think so.

No.

Choice should be embarrassed being associated with this media beat up.

I'd fly Jetstar over Tiger any day, but Tiger wasn't rated as not enough surveys completed in relation to them for them to be included. Ditto Ryanair.

Jetstar SIN with SIN based crew is fine. Happy to fly them. Good value for SIN/KUL sector. The AU based Jetstar crew have too much attitude for my liking. Flew them once years ago and that's enough.

The bogans more likely to regularly fly carriers like jetstar are usually the most vocal for complaints and are always expecting 5 star service for a 2 star price, I daresay that sways the results a little.

NOT DESERVED..!

I've flown JQ many times in J class MEL/BKK return over the last 3-4 yrs. Crew always remember your name and service requests are always professionally met. "Ontime" departures may not always be the case, but my life doesn't need to be that accurate.

Have also flown them domestically in Y class - MEL/CNS rt & MEL/SYD rt.... NEVER AGAIN..!

Not their fault though..... MEL T4.. is the problem. Walking distance between Check-in and Gate...Too far..!!

Conclusion:  JQ Internationally...YES.!,  JQ Domestically... NO.!

Not deserved at all. Used to be based at OOL and flew them regularly to SYD, MEL and KIX. Staff were usually friendly and professional. Had plenty of delays and issues over several years, but no more than any other carrier. Now I'm not at OOL I fly QF and VA pretty much equally and they get it wrong as much, if not more, than JQ ever did.

Turkmenistan Airlines, Air Algerie, any US Airline (minus Hawaiian, Alaskan and Virgin) or most intra-European airlines are much worse than Jetstar.
