Suggestions for new Qantas hub flights?

Now Qantas  has returned to flying  via Singapore  to London, hopefully  we will see the return of the Singapore hub with flights hubbing there from all over Australia and some continuing on to Asia  and Europe

QF linking via SIN opens up a whole new can of connections (esp via Asia) that weren't logical with the hub being in DXB! 

I have a weird pet peeve that I don't like to travel in the wrong direction when I'm flying. For example, my home base is Rockhampton (ROK) and I absolutely hate having to fly down to Brisbane and then fly back up to Dubai or Japan or wherever.

So my ideal (and slightly fantastical) setup would be Darwin as a sort of Australia-wide hub with ULR aircraft connecting directly to Asia and Europe and completely forgoing Dubai/Singapore hubs and get feed from all over Australia. So I could ideally fly ROK->DRW->CDG or BME->DRW->FRA. 

TSV-SIN, wind the clock back 30 years, but I think we will be waiting a while,QF make too much money out of flying us all through BNE to change anything. 

Well, I think QF would prefer to be routing everyone to Perth, rather than Singapore, helping them really consolidate Perth as being the new hub. 

The only problem as i see it is Qantas  lacks a 200-250 seater like 767s they used to use to hub in Singapore. Should use some of their 787s on order

As far as QF is concerned, Singapore is a stop-measure hub for flights to London which they hope will soon turn non-stop from the eastern coast if they can get the right aircraft. QF cannot compete with the frequency and feeder traffic that SQ and other carriers can garner through their hubs, which is why they still have the tie-up with Emirates. Additionally with the introduction of the B787-9 aircraft, it is more likely that they will launch more flights to Europe via Perth as they will have a monopoly. 

Perth to Hong Kong via Singapore (10+ years ago, Qantas operated QF 077 and QF 078 on that routing) using an A330: Perth to Singapore v.v 5 hours 10, Singapore to Hong Kong v.v 3 hours 55, plus the stopover in Singapore - it will be perfect in terms of aircraft utilisation

With Qantas relocating back to Singapore as a hub, which carrier will be their partner to fly to other parts of Asia?  Does Jetstar have the footprint in asia to do so?  I don't see premium pax liking to fly with Jetstar much if they have a choice
