You gain extra perks/advantages when flying on QF as a P1 over a P. For example greater upgrade request priority over P, Gold, Silver etc but as feshtoughts has stated above, have a look ath the qantas website.
But if you mean flying international on the oneworld network (and not QF) P1 and P are both OW emerald. As such they are equivalent and P1 does not officially attract extra perks/advantages over a P, thought I'm sure there are some anecdotes out there. I'd also refer you to the oneworld website for information such as lounge access, express path access at specific airports for an OW emerald.
P1 will be informed of a successful upgrade up to 7 days before departure whereas for Platinum it's only 48 hours.
In international QF Business Lounges, where there's no dedicated QF First Lounge, P1 can get champagne rather than sparkling wine. P1 can select the best seats available straight away after booking. Whereas for lower status travellers (including Platinum) some seats will be blocked to give P1 priority for obtaining those seats.
If an op-up needs to happen on QF metal (rare) then if status is considered P1 will be considered before Platinum.
P1 get a few lounge invitations to the International First Lounge to give away to family/friends.
and much more
P1 does have some nice benefits if you travel often enough to make good use of them.

Thanks, I had not given much thought to exploring OW options.
