What did they do when Qantas used Singapore as a hub before Dubai? I know there weren't A380s but there were 747s and 767s flying everywhere. Probably similar passnger numbers!
There used to be separate business and first lounges shared with BA, this ended with the EK partnership and QF / BA split their lounges
Maybe in the future QF might look at a seperate Jetstar/ Qantas Club Lounge with a more basic offering in places like Singapore with the main lounge reserved for QF pax and Platinums, especially if they want to grow the Jetstar business out of Singapore.
Using a business class lounge is totally in keeping with the 'QF first' class product. Its really only business + just like the lounge is ...a premium business one. Except when it's busy- it's also a playground and pub.

They did fly 380’s through Singapore before the Dubai / EK deal. Sydney and Melbourne.
I don’t really believe JQ pax should be entitled to use the lounge even if they have high status.
Should standardize the airport experience with that in the air and chuck them a voucher for Burger King instead.
Covvers, no doubt you were being somewhat facetious, but nonetheless, your criticism falls wide of the mark.
I am with you that, generally speaking, your typical "JQ types" should not be permitted within a 10 meter radius of a QF lounge. There are, however, some exceptions. One of these is in Singapore where QF is actively marketing Asian destinations with a JQ connection on a QF ticket number. Your grievance in this instance should lie with QF, and not with the JQ pax.
When the SIN/DXB/LHR changes were first announced, we did a rough comparison of the lounge capacity with the numbers of the current and planned flights with where pax would have access to the lounge over on AFF.
The lounge is crowded now during the evening peak. Even with fewer pax in T1 able to access the lounge (with CX moving to T4), the addition of 1 A380 flight (LHR), upgrade of 2 A330s to A380s (MEL, SYD) and increased A330 flights (2nd MEL flight going from 3 weekly to daily), the lounge is going to be over capacity for ~90 mins around 7-8pm.
Qantas may start refusing guests entry into the lounge during busy times. There is no space available nearby for lounge expansion I've been informed. This is going to get interesting.

The only space nearby are airport offices, a SATS lounge, and the TG(?) and BA lounges.
460 seats will not cut it. Remember it's not just the premium pax who will be lining up, it will be all Gold and above pax (irrespective of class of travel) AND possibly a bunch of people hoping to exercise OneWorld shared privileges as well?
And while we're at it, just had the dubious pleasure of an extended session in the HNL QF lounge with a 2 hour delayed SYD departure. What a claustrophobic, smelly little cubby hole. Literally standing room only, lots of screaming babies and young children (the location I guess). Staff absolutely delightful but awful facilities and food/beverage.
Qantas commences using A380 to Singapore one again today as QF81/82. I thought we might have heard from Qantas regarding the lounge situation by now? It’s not long until London is re-routed. I’m not heading to Singapore until May, but not looking forward to seeing how busy the lounge will be!
I Never use the Qantas lounge in Singapore: its usually full of drunken chavs. This is a CLUB lounge not a biz lounge.
I'm in for a flaming no doubt: how about limiting lounge access to those actually travelling in Business or First, regardless of status? Give high-status folk flying Y admission to the Plaza Premium lounge or similar...or a Burger King voucher.

Access to the lounge is a godsend when your only OW option back to Australia is 3K (without having to circumnavigate Australia) late at night.

I haven’t bothered with the QF lounge in any of my last four trips through SG. BA and EK lounges are both a far better experience.

Most of us have no other choice to travel JQ from SIN (first leg to SIN with QF) to access Phuket, Kuala-Lumpur, Penang, Yangon and so...

You're right, this is a terrible idea.
