I may have missed something but I'm pretty sure I didn't - it seems the SC earn for Velocity on SQ flights has just changed. Whereas only N,Q,V and K tickets were classed as 'discount economy' with a 50% SC earn, now N,Q,V,K,L,M,H,W are all classed as discount, with only Y, B, and E classed as full economy. While I'm not surprised - I always thought the earn was on the generous side on the discount tickets - I'm a bit annoyed at the lack of notice having recently booked 8 SQ flights based on reaching platinum, which now won't happen!

Good spot, I booked into W for the additional status credits back in Jan for a flight in June. Most I can find is from the VA website, "Classes M, H, W, L were classified as Full Fare Economy prior to 1 March 2018." It is ticketed but I haven't flown it yet, so will be disappointing - though not surprising - if they credit at discount rate. Anyone tested this?

FYI: Virgin Australia advises that this reduction in Velocity points and status credits earn for L, M, H and W classes has come about due to changes at Singapore Airlines' end, and will be honoured for bookings made before 13 March at the previous earning rate.

Worth noting that from what I can see the majority of people who have so far asked Velocity for confirmation of this have been told that booking date is irrelevant and only date flown is considered. So we'll see...waiting for a response from them myself.

This is the written response I got from Velocity:
If youve made your Singapore Airlines or Silk Air booking prior to Velocitys earn announcement (13 March 2018) and youd like to earn at the old rates, please send us a copy of your flight booking so we can further escalate it to the partner.
