Hi all,
Extra baggage allowance for Emerald frequent flyers*
As an Emerald frequent flyer, you can check in one additional bag for free in addition to your ticketed baggage allowance when you fly on oneworld airlines.
If your ticket mentions a weight allowance, you can check in an extra 20 kgs.
Extra baggage allowance for Sapphire frequent flyers*
As a Sapphire frequent flyer, the following special baggage privileges will apply when you fly on oneworld airlines;
On purely domestic itineraries, using the baggage allowance "piece" system, for tickets with no ticketed baggage entitlement - the assurance of one piece of checked baggage, weighing up to 23 kgs.sdtravel

Im also interested but am not sure
As a QF Platinum i think you get 3 bags which i believe is 23kg in Eco & 32kg in First on short haul flights.
But its totally confusing because most short haul domestic flights in the US dont include baggage including first class tickets. So the notion of first class baggage limits is confusing. Unless it means that for the same price ($25) eco can check a 23kg bag and First can check a 32kg bag.
I think your QF Platinum status baggage limits apply to everyone on the booking. If 2 people then up to 6 bags at 23kg each but i dont see that on the AA website so am not sure.
The AA website is not clear in this regard.

As a QF WP you are entitled for 3 free checked bags, max 51 lbs each on domestic. AA rule would trump the OWE rule. I had to rearrange my luggage one before to comply with the max weight. if your luggage is interlined with an international leg, you get up to 70 lbs per bag.

The baggage allowance for oneworld emerald flying on AA domestic is 3 x 70 lbs (32 kg) bags. They don't state it all on the same page. This is the allowance they gave me when I flew AA domestic with QF Platinum.
https://www.aa.com/i18n/travel-info/baggage/checked-baggage-policy.jsp ( 3x bag complimentary for Oneworld Emerald)
https://www.aa.com/i18n/travel-info/baggage/oversize-and-overweight-baggage.jsp ("First and Business Class, Executive Platinum and oneworld Emerald members can check baggage up to 70 lbs / 32 kgs at no extra cost.")

I justed asked AA via their online form and got this response. Everything is great up untill the last sentance when i get confused again.
"Thank you for contacting Customer Relations. I'm happy to outline our checked baggage allowance.
Customers traveling in coach may check two bags, weighing up to 50 lbs each. Business class travelers flying on a two-cabin aircraft are permitted to check up to two bags. First and Business Class customers are permitted to check up to three bags , weighing up to 70 lbs each, when traveling on a three-cabin aircraft. For all classes, the standard bag size allowance is 62 linear inches (length + height + width). Executive Platinum and oneworld Emerald members are permitted one bag in addition to the allowances above. Additional baggage, or baggage that is heavier or larger than our allowance are subject to additional charges. For more information about our baggage allowance and charges, visit us online.
For domestic coach tickets we charge $25 for the first checked bag and $35 for the second checked bag. The charges apply for travel within the United States and U.S. territories such as Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands."

I was refused the additional luggage allowance for a Gold FF on an internal AA flight that was connecting with a QF international flight last year. Made me move a few kilo's from my bag to the kids bags, were very unhelpful, couldn't care what my OneWorld status was.

As Qantas Gold we booked an AA website last August for. Washington DC to Las Vegas flight. Received 2 free bags plus access to the lounge at Ronny Regan National Airport in Washington pre flight. We were also able to pick forward of cabin seats at no extra cost.

An added point to mention - although I am not sure if this is still the case, certainly when I was last travelling domestic coach on AA I was able to get free snacks and drinks (including wine) by showing my OWE card. You should also be able to choose Main Cabin Select at no extra charge.
