We are travelling on QR J class from Canberra to Europe next week. Can any kind soul give me the clue on what to expect regarding the catering and IFE in J class?
The CBR-DOH actually have a stop in SYD, because the sector only takes 35-40 minutes, you won't get any catering for CBR-SYD sector. (except non-alcoholic drinks)
For the SYD-DOH and sector to Europe, the dining menu run on the dine on demand model, which means you can have your first meal anytime from after takeoff to before second meal (or before descent on one-meal flight). However, please notify FA your favourite on the menu after takeoff and tell them you'll have them later if you want to have it after few hours to avoid first choice ran out, they'll be pretty happy to oblige your request. Apart from that, their food never disappoints especially the Indian/Sri Lankan selection, even the presentation is better than I say, Qantas.
Al Mourjan Lounge in Doha: NO alcohol will be served in their lounge during entire Muslim holy month of Ramadan which last until mid-June.

PS readers, while chatting to the crew chief on the Cba-Syd leg, I mentioned, politely, that I thought it would be a nice touch to have bubbly available as a boarding drink. She came back with a glass of Pommery brut. The legends are true about QR cabin service.

I'm flying Canberra to Oslo later this year on QR in J. I presume the lounge in Canberra is the Qantas Business Lounge shared with domestic flyers?
