Since there's a double status promotion starting tomorrow, I'm just wanting to know how the bonus works.
I understand the double status promotion does not go towards any SC bonus'. I'm currently on 480, if I participate in the promotion, does it make all status credits void to the bonus, or only the over and above earned from the promotion?
Only the additional SCs don’t count. In fact the system will credit the normal SC earn and the additional “double SCs” separately (in some cases it will take a month for the bonus to credit). Ie if you earnt 20SC with QF you’d reach 500 immediately (unlocking the loyalty bonus) and will eventually receive an additional 20 (which won’t contribute to bonuses, amongst other things).
Im chasing quick status credits only need about 100 before OCT. if i book QF: GC - ADL via MEL will i get the SC for GC-MEL and then MEL-ADL? also i want to book with Amex travel credit received with Amex Qantas CC?
You’ll get double of whatever the original routing would’ve netted you (so yes you would get double for each sector).
At this stage it looks like the only additional exemption is bookings through Commonwealth travel arrangements, as far as I know the Amex credit should work fine.

hi,
Where did you discover that there's a double status promotion commencing tomorrow. I too need a few points before end of September.

At this stage it looks like the only additional exemption is bookings through Commonwealth travel arrangements, as fair as I know the Amex credit should work fine.
so even through its a stop over and not separate booking the MEL section still counts instead of only the GC-ADL counting like a direct flight?

Unless the entire OOL-ADL is on a single flight number, you will receive separate points and SC's for OOL-MEL and MEL-ADL.
Sitting on 480SC currently, need 120 to retain gold by 31/08/2018. Bought flex ticks SYD-MEL for 26/08/2018 (20 each way.)
Counting on the double status and the 50 bonus to push me across the line to 610. First leg to MEL will give me 500, I plan on taking the 50SC on offer, then the return will see me another 20SC. The double SC promotion will see me at 610. But will it come through in time, and if not, do I have grounds to argue it with Qantas?
Can anyone tell me do you see the double status when booking or is that added later?
As we travel domestically weekly if I book the next few months should I see that double sc when booking or do I need to keep a record of all the bookings that should be applicable. I have just logged in to book some flights but cant see any double sc, only the normal.
You will only be attributed the status credits once you actually take the flight - as per usual with standard SC's - so when booking, you will only see the regular SC amounts for the flights.
I also keep a paper(!) notebook log of when I book flights, which includes when I have taking advantage of one of these offers, what I expect the points/SC tally to be. I also save the offer email and registration confirmation email, so I can double check my facts before I call Qantas should I need to claim any points/SC's missing. Thus far I have never needed to chase up any missing points/credits.

Confirming that Qantas has overnight unleashed a Double Status Credits promotion, running through to next Tuesday (August 14) for travel from 21 August 2018 through to 8 August 2019. A great opportunity, but quite a few caveats in the fine print – we've covered all the details at https://www.ausbt.com.au/qantas-double-status-credits-promotion-is-back-but-for-five-days-only
