Is anyone able to confirm, Virgin Australia will once again be arriving/departing from the Delta terminal at LAX in the next few months?Check-in is already there atm, but then you need to hike through the mess that is TBIT to get to the aircraft gate...

You must be using a different TBIT to everyone else. It’s hardly a mess these days.

TBIT itself is indeed pretty good (once you're through), but the gate area used by VA (way down the north end) is a bit dark and primitive, to say the least. And it does just seem rather strange to have to check in at one terminal, then high-tail it down the road to another to actually board the flight; maybe that'll be addressed when the T2 / T3 / TBIT airside connector is built. That said, the EY lounge in TBIT is excellent. Similarly transferring off an arriving VA flight and onto a DL flight could be made somewhat more efficient by being in the same terminal (as sister VS is). Better signage all round would be a good start though.
For what it's worth, the connector bus between T2/T3 and TBIT isn't that much of a problem. We did SEA-LAX-BNE in August. Waiting airside 5-10 minutes for the bus and walked into TBIT about 5 minutes later.

You check in at T2 and the flights depart from TBIT.
