VH-OJT operated it's last passenger flight yesterday as QF 55 BNE-LAX as is to be removed from the permanently from service. Leaves 9 747s remaining in the fleet.
Really wouldn’t mind a few more widebody services from PER - MEL this week. Props to QF for throwing the spare A330 on the route this weekend but at this point it would appear they are capable of making some significant profits if they could spare the jumbo!

Wouldn't be surprised at all to see some of the 747 services to syd scrapped in favour of Mel this week if the existing flights fill.
There is precedent- VA have run 777s between the two cities in GFs past.
From J pax persepective, unfortunate that they have kept VH-OEB with its Skybed 1. Presumably relates to maintenance costs.
I see that constellation are doing their 747 global charter again next September -October 2019. They're possibly keeping the old bird for that. Surprised that they're putting VH-OEG on the Syd to Perth flights too. Would have expected that the better 747s remaining should be on the long distance journeys still running.
OEB did the Honolulu trip last night. Would be pissed to end up on it or to SF when better alternatives could be used by QF.

As I understand retirements and refurbs are generally rarely carefully planned to get the most out of an aircraft before the next major maintenance
