Qantas will cut the ribbon on its all-new regional lounge at Tamworth Airport on December 22.

Located in a new airside location, after the airport security checkpoint, the lounge will be 20% larger and feature views across the tarmac, contemporary furnishings, complimentary refreshments and beverages plus WiFi.

However, the current Tamworth lounge has now been closed, with the airline saying travellers "will be offered vouchers to redeem at the food outlet in the airport terminal.

I always thought of this lounge as the Barnaby Lounge. Now he’s relocated up to Armidale will we see a new QP at ARM with a kiddies zone?

Why isn't Newcastle Airport able to have a Qantas Lounge? Newcastle is the 6th largest city in Australia. How does Tamworth score a Qantas Lounge

Newcastle? You've got to be joking. Without the university and football team there isn't much there. Its hardly a business or holiday destination.

Have they announced the second pilot training centre yet, wondering if this is an indication that Tamworth gets the nod. Agree with Clancy, it would have been nice if other ports had been considered for a lounge to start with (there is a space set aside at Dubbo for a lounge so I am told)
