I am travelling in first class on Emirates to Europe and a friend is travelling in economy on the same flight - can anyone tell me if my friend can get guest access with me in Dubai first lounge during our layover?
Note the Dubai first lounge is not a good as it should be. Staff service very slow even with few people there. Little attention to detail. QF much better.

Not in my experience, was there week before last in the Terminal A lounge and service was excellent. Yes its a huge lounge, however I have only ever had good experiences there.

I wasn't aware there was a QF lounge (of any flavour) in Dubai. QF Passengers use the Emirates Lounges, not withstanding that any QF passengers are now flying Emirates to Dubai anyway.
1) You may use the Emirates First Class Lounge in Dubai (and other cites) as a First Class traveller.
1b) There are multiple First and Business Class Lounges in Dubai across T1 and T3.
2) First Class Air Fares (Issued by EK) do not include access for companions into the lounge.
2b) You CAN NOT bring a Free Guest with you unless you have a high level frequent flyer status (this could include EK/QF Platinum Frequent Flyers or EK iO).
3) You may however pay for the use the Emirates Business class lounge or Emirates First class lounge in Dubai for your companion in Economy or Business Special fares (this fare type do not include lounge access).
4) If you are purchasing lounge access you will also get the best price if you are a member of Emirates frequent member (including Entry-level/Blue-tier frequent flyers), so join prior to arriving at the airport to get access to these prices.
4b) As of July 2019, it costs approximately USD$250pp plus tax/vat for First class lounge (Skywards member price USD$200pp plus tax/vat) or USD$130pp for Business Class lounge (Skywards member price USD$100pp plus tax/vat).
4b) You can also upgrade to the first class lounge if you have a business class ticket for a reduced price of USD$130pp plus tax/vat (your airfare must have access to EK Biz lounge for reduced price thought)/(Skywards member price USD$100pp plus tax/vat)
5) Please note that your payment must be done by credit/debit card and can be processed in either US Dollar (USD) or UAE Dirham (AED).
6) Always remember that paid access is "subject to capacity restrictions" regular terms and conditions, purchase is non-refundable and appropriate dress code.
OUTSIDE DUBAI:
7) Emirates also operates their own lounges in these cities, and you can purchase access to Emirates lounges in these cities:
Auckland, Bangkok, Beijing, Birmingham, Boston, Brisbane, Cairo, Cape Town, Colombo, Delhi, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, Glasgow, Hamburg, Hong Kong, Istanbul, Johannesburg, Kuala Lumpur, London Gatwick, London Heathrow, Los Angeles, Manchester, Melbourne, Milan, Munich, New York John F. Kennedy, Paris Charles de Gaulle, Perth, Rome, San Francisco, Singapore, Shanghai, Sydney, Tokyo Narita, and Zürich.
7b) Simply contact the lounge locally or contact Emirates on Social Media (eg: Twitter: @EmiratesSupport they are open 24/7) in regards to the price (as they are usually charred in local currency or USD).
QF first in Sydney or Melbourne is much better than Dubai in terms of food options, friendly service, and nice touches on plating etc. Dubai has a nice sushi bar but it is well hidden.

i always head for the sushi bar too - and agree (like the lounge in general) it helps to know where it is before you try to find it
Travelling in economy with my wife through Dubai in August 2019 and back in October 2019 . I am QP but my wife has no real status. Previously I have had access EK first lounge. Hopefully nothing has changed.
PS if you have to change from EK to QF a nominal 2 hour connection is not enough if you have to change terminals.

I’m not quite sure what you’re saying here. There are no Qantas flights operating to Dubai since they switched back to using Singapore for QF1/2. Even if you’re ticketed on a QF ticket flying through DBX you’re on an Emirates aeroplane. There is no EK to QF change required at DBX. Just a change to a different EK plane if transiting.
It's my understanding that QF platinum has the same privileges as EK platinum when it comes to F lounge access in DXB. You can guest in one adult, provided you're both departing with EK on the same flight.
Note the Dubai first lounge is not a good as it should be. Staff service very slow even with few people there. Little attention to detail. QF much better.
Not in my experience either. I'm in either A or B concourse F lounges regularly, and the service has always been attentive and timely. You must be very hard to please!

Hi there,
Hopefully this clears this up for you:
IN DUBAI:

1b) There are multiple First and Business Class Lounges in Dubai across T1 and T3.
2) First Class Air Fares (Issued by EK) do not include access for companions into the lounge.
2b) You CAN NOT bring a Free Guest with you unless you have a high level frequent flyer status (this could include EK/QF Platinum Frequent Flyers or EK iO).

4c) check updated prices and tax/vat rates here: https://www.emirates.com/au/english/experience/our-lounges/paid-lounge-access/
5) Please note that your payment must be done by credit/debit card and can be processed in either US Dollar (USD) or UAE Dirham (AED).
