Earn Qantas, Virgin Australia frequent flyer points at the gym

Whether you’re hitting the treadmill or pumping iron to stay fit, burning calories can now earn you Qantas and Virgin Australia frequent flyer points at either Snap Fitness or Jetts.

Here’s what you need to know when shopping for a new gym membership, and how existing members can also reap the rewards.

Earning Qantas Points at Snap Fitness

Take out a new Snap Fitness 12 month membership from Saturday August 8 and pay in full up-front to pocket 3,500 Qantas Points, or opt for a flexible month-to-month plan and earn a still-solid 1,000 points from the get-go.

On top of that, you’ll grab a further 100 Qantas Points for every month that you keep your gym membership active.

Existing customers can link their Qantas Frequent Flyer number to their Snap Fitness membership from August 8 to earn the same 100 points each month.

Just visit your local Snap Fitness gym during staffed hours with both your membership tag and your Qantas Frequent Flyer card to start converting those calories into frequent flyer points.

Earning Virgin Australia Velocity points with Jetts

Virgin Australia Velocity Frequent Flyer cardholders can reel in two Velocity Points per dollar spent on their gym membership with Jetts, including on joining fee costs and ‘access pass fees’ for new members.

Then, visit a Jetts gym five times or more each month to earn a bonus 60 Velocity Points as a reward for your workouts – just make sure your visits fall on five different days, as multiple entries on the same day don’t boost your bonus points tally.

New gym members can supply their Velocity number when joining Jetts, while those already working out at Jetts can link their gym and frequent flyer memberships by calling 1300 JETTS 247 (1300 53887 247).

It always baffled my why Velocity tied in with Jetts as opposed to Virgin Active.

Virgin Active has only 6 gyms in the entire country, Jetts has over 250 - you do the math.

I should have thought of this when it came time to switch gyms last year.I am with Anytime Fitness at the present time which are good but offer me no frequent flyer benefits.
