Earn double Avios points with British Airways flights to December 31
British Airways is now offering a double helping of Avios frequent flyer points for all BA flights through to December 31, 2018.
As usual with these sorts of promotions, in order to earn that extra serve of Avios BA Executive Club members must register before they book an eligible flight – so job #1 is to click here and register for this promotion.
Once that's done, you're all set.
What are 'base Avios'?
You can earn a double serve of the base Avios of your journey – that's the number of Avios applicable to the lowest economy fare, and without any status bonus.
Even if you're a BAEC Gold card-holder ensconced in first class, your bonus Avios haul will be the same for a non-status passenger sitting way down the back of the bus rather than double your entire Avios earning for that flight.
So, not a lot in the grand scheme of things but undoubtedly better than not having extra Avios sitting in your account.
This promotion is valid only for your next 10 BA flights, or to be more specific, for up to ten 'segments' on every BA flight. Note that on flights with a stop-over, such as Sydney-Singapore-London, each leg of that flight is considered one segment.
(You can also earn extra Avios on flights between Europe and North America with BA partners American Airlines, Finnair and Iberia, provided they're booked under the codeshare BA flight number.)
That said, we need to sound the usual sad caveat that membership of the British Airways Executive Club frequent flyer scheme is currently not available to residents of Australia (or our NZ neighbours, for that matter).

Why British Airways exclude Australian and NZ residents from joining Executive Club is totally beyond me.
Hardly "To Fly to Serve"!
