Emirates & Alaska Airlines partner on points, 'double miles' deal

IN BRIEF | A new partnership between Emirates and Alaska Airlines not only allows travellers to rack up points in either airline's frequent flyer program, but to double their miles from March through May this year.

It's all part of the launch of Emirates first flights from Dubai to Seattle, starting March 1st.

The daily service will run on an ultra-long range Boeing 777-300ER and make Seattle the airline's sixth US gateway, after New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Houston and (from February 2) Dallas/Fort Worth.

If you're on an Alaska Airlines flight in North America you can shunt the earned miles into your Emirates Skywards account, while Emirates flights can be used to top up your Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan.

As part of the Dubai-Seattle celebrations both airlines are offering double miles on flights from March 1 through May 31, 2012.
