Emirates, Moet & Chandon open business class 'champagne lounge'

Emirates' upgraded business class lounge at Dubai International Airport's Concourse B now looks like an even better place to spend a few hours between flights.
The airline colossus has partnered with Moët & Chandon to open a champagne lounge serving four of the brand's finest drops: Moët Impérial, Moët Rosé Impérial, Moët & Chandon Grand Vintage and Moët Nectar Impérial.
Yes, we suggest you book a long layover for your next trip.
There's also a unique selection of canapés created to complement each champagne, such as smoked salmon wrapped in nori with wasabi mayonnaise to go with Moët & Chandon Grand Vintage 2006; and passion fruit and jasmine tea macaroons to be paired with Moët Nectar Impérial.
Okay, so you'd better make that a l-o-n-g layover.
The champagne bar is one of the fruits of an US$11 million upgrade which has been ticking away for the past two years, which has also seen the lounge expanded to almost 10,000 square feet with room for over 1,500 travellers – a solid 40% boost in capacity which will be welcomed during peak times.
Emirates has also enlisted British brand Costa Coffee to run its new in-lounge cafe, serving everything from barista-pulled short black shots to iced coffees alongside pastries on a 24x7 basis.
In addition, the cavernous lounge gains a 'health hub' developed in partnership with Voss water. Travellers can enjoy water with a selection of fruit and water infusions, fruit juices and smoothies plus gourmet sandwiches, wraps, and salads.
The three new refreshment areas are the first of several new concepts planned for lounges at Emirates' Dubai hub, with cocktail bars and sports bars to follow.
Dubai Airport's Concourse B is home to Emirates' Boeing 777 flights and selected Airbus A380 flights, with the business class lounge open to the airline's first class and business class passengers; Platinum, Gold and Silver members of the Emirates Skywards frequent flyer program; and Qantas Platinum and Gold frequent flyers.

From the access rights you have listed in the article, this appears to be one of the Emirates Business lounges that is unavailable for those of us who still are on their way up to FF Gold (in my case hopefully by the end of this 6 week trip)
This is slightly at odds with your article from earlier in the year (https://www.executivetraveller.com/a-qantas-flyer-s-guide-to-emirates-airport-lounge-access) which states that "Qantas Club members can gain access to the emirates business lounges welcome only in the airline

Qantas Club members travelling on a QF flight number can access the Emirates Business Lounge in DXB. Your access pass is printed on your boarding pass for your onward journey.

They certainly have outlets in the UAE: even the hotel cafe at the Premier Inn at Abu Dhabi Airport is Costa-branded.

It's no Cathay Hong Kong lounge, also a bit of a worry when a supposed "premium" brand needs to rely on another. On the topic of Costa, part of Whitbread PLC, is a rather significant business across much of the developing world including the UAE and India. So given where many of the EK passengers come from this would be a suitable match. And remember having coffee in the emerging world is a middle class thing so also well aligned to the travelling IT consultants that criss cross through Dubai. Lavazza in First though?

I know everyone is quite bewildered by the Costa Coffee inclusion but in all fairness, Moet isn't that fantastic is it? It is the cheapest, most mass produced Champagne.

Not even the inclusion of Moet in their Business Class Lounge could entice me to fly with Emirates Business Class again. I think that they by far have the worst Business Class Seats in the group that fly in and out of Australia . SQ, CX, NZ, QR to name a few are streets ahead of them in their seat quality and comfort. Whilst the EK seat is just OK and just a bit better than economy the others leave EK for dead. IMHOP they have a lousy product!!!

Funny how so many people are being rude about Costa Coffee, when the real downer is Moet. Alright, the Imperials are quite decent, and that is what they seem to be serving here. But as a brand Moet is one of those that is only lauded by those ignorant of the actual quality of the product, which in the case of the non-Imperials is absolute rubbish
