Etihad's business, first class 'early bird' fares for 2016
Start planning your travel schedule for 2016 this month and be rewarded by some great business class and first class fares in Etihad Airways' just-released 'early bird' deals.
On sale from today through to October 31, these competitively-priced fares cover low season travel on selected dates between January 22 and September 26, 2016.
A sampling of the business class bundles shows Sydney to London return from $7,722 including taxes, with Melbourne to London from $,7407 and Brisbane to London from $7,725, along with keen prices for other Etihad destinations in the UK and Europe.
Options for passengers heading out of Perth a one-stop rebound via Abu Dhabi to the USA, with Los Angeles from $8,281 and New York from $8,281, and pre-clearance for US immigration at Abu Dhabi airport to streamline your arrival stateside.
The daily Brisbane-Abu Dhabi flight and one of the two daily Sydney flights will see you in Etihad's new lie-flat Business Studio (below) on the Boeing 787 and Airbus A380 respectively.
The A380 also features The Lobby, a social space where business and first class travellers can relax and mingle.
Early bird prices for first class are worth a closer look, too, such as:
- Sydney to Frankfurt from $10,752, London from $11,022, Munich from $10,728 and Paris from $10,769
- Melbourne to Düsseldorf from $10,709, Geneva from $10,642, London from $10,707 and Paris from $10,755

The Brisbane Boeing 787 service includes Etihad's designed-for-the-Dreamliner first class suites...
... while the Airbus A380 flights from Sydney and through to London will see you wrapped in the luxury of the world's largest first class suites, which are aptly named Apartments.

Business not really much of sale - just few pennies of savings. First looks much better though.

Not seeing overly great value there at those prices. Nothing out of the ordinary.

Nothing special about business class, but decent discount on first - BA sells first class (which is really an upmarket business class) for around 10k while QF/EK/SQ are selling theirs for 13k. 10k on the first apartments all the way IMO is a great deal!
I am hoping Citibank Prestige concierge can do a discount on that - they normally can do 15% off business and first class fares!

Just out of curiosity I looked for return busness class fares from SYD to JFK.
The price didn't look too bad but what looked weird was that for the flights between AUH & JFK it said they were operated by "ETIHAD ON JET AIRWAYS CONFIGURED AIRCRAFT".
Does anyone know precisely what this means?

It means that you will be travelling on a Jet Airways aircraft on seats allocated to Etihad.
