Free luggage trolleys at Sydney Airport for American Express cardholders
American Express cardholders passing through Sydney Airport’s international terminal are now exempt from paying fees to hire luggage trolleys.
Ordinarily charged at $4 for departing passengers – although free for all arriving passengers – the usual rental fees are being waived until December 31 2014 for eligible members.
Simply swipe your American Express card at any of the trolley dispensers in Terminal 1 to hire a trolley. Despite showing a hire price, cardholders won’t be charged a penny.
The offer is available to customers holding most American Express cards – including those from Westpac, NAB, CBA and ANZ – but excludes any AMEX cards issued overseas.
AMEX Business Travel Accounts and David Jones Storecards are excluded from the deal, along with business cards affiliated with a wholesale partner and government, corporate purchasing, corporate meeting and Global Travel cards.
In a separate offer, AMEX cardholders stocking up on duty free goods can also register for a $30 statement credit, awarded after spending $100 or more at SYD Airport Tax & Duty Free before August 31 2014.

Luggage trolleys for a $4 fee?? It is really unbelievable (but not surprising) that you have to pay for a trolley. MEL is free and so is many many airports around the world.
