Free Shangri-La Jade, Diamond status for AMEX Platinum, Centurion

American Express Platinum and Centurion cardholders can now boost their loyalty status to Jade or Diamond in Shangri-La’s Golden Circle program, thanks to a new partnership between AMEX and the luxury hotel chain.

Platinum and Platinum Business charge card customers qualify for the mid-level Jade tier, delivering benefits such as free breakfast, room upgrades and both early check-in and late check-out when staying with Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts, Kerry Hotels, Traders Hotels and Hotel Jen.

Top-level Golden Circle Diamond status is the domain of Centurion cardholders, an American Express spokesperson confirmed to Australian Business Traveller.

Over and above the benefits of Jade, Diamond guests also enjoy Horizon Club/Traders Club lounge access during every stay, private in-room check-in, hotel concierge services at any time, complimentary suit pressing and more.

Eligible AMEX cardholders can request the complimentary status boost by accessing the Platinum and Centurion portals on the American Express website. Membership in Shangri-La Golden Circle is also free if not already enrolled.

There, eligible cardholders can also take advantage of free Accor Le Club, Club Carlson, Starwood Preferred Guest and Accor Plus memberships, although the previous offer of free status with IHG Rewards has been withdrawn.

This offer isn’t available with other Platinum-grade cards such as the American Express Platinum Edge credit card or bank-issued Platinum and Black AMEX cards.
