Hertz Gold Plus Rewards offers loyalty points, free rental days
Renting a car on your next business trip isn’t just an easy and convenient way to get around town – for Hertz customers, it’s a rewarding experience too, thanks to the Hertz Gold Plus Rewards loyalty program.
That’s because all Hertz Gold Plus Rewards members can earn points on car hire across the company’s global network, and then redeem those points for free rental days and free upgrades to higher-category vehicles – all while skipping the queues.
What’s more, join the program by August 30 2016 and complete at least one paid rental in your first month of membership and you’ll net a cool 550 bonus points as part of Hertz’s ‘That’s Gold’ promotion: enough for a free weekend rental day, atop the points you’d usually earn.

Hertz Gold Plus Rewards: how it works
All Australian members who join Gold Plus Rewards begin their journey at the Gold tier, with frequent renters progressing to the higher Five Star and President’s Circle levels.
Hertz Gold Plus Rewards Gold
Right off the bat, entry-level Gold members of this free-to-join program can use the dedicated Hertz Gold Plus Rewards fast track service counters whenever picking up or returning their vehicle.
You’ll also pocket one Gold point per US$1 spent (or the equivalent in a country’s local currency), and as you begin to rent more, the points you’ll earn and the benefits you’ll receive increase with each tier.
Hertz Gold Plus Rewards Five Star
Complete at least seven rentals or spend US$1,500 on the same during a calendar year and you’ll be bumped up to Five Star status.
That gets you free upgrades to the next-highest car type above the one you’ve booked, subject to availability but not beyond a ‘full size’ vehicle. You’ll also earn 10% more Gold points with every rental, or the equivalent of 1.1 Gold points per US$1 spent.
Hertz Gold Plus Rewards President’s Circle
You’ll ascend to the program’s top membership tier, President’s Circle, after completing 20 rentals in a calendar year or spending at least US$4,000 with Hertz during that same period.
Along with the benefits afforded to lower-tier members, President’s Circle cardholders can speed through the collection and drop-off formalities thanks to dedicated President’s Circle decks and stalls at many Hertz locations.
These members also receive one-class car upgrades (capped at ‘full size’ vehicles), but unlike Five Star members, these upgrades come guaranteed with every booking rather than subject to availability on pick-up day.
You’ll also earn 25% more Gold points with every booking over entry-level members – that’s 1.25 Gold points per US$1 spent, or the equivalent in local currency.
