Hilton HHonors has added Garuda Indonesia to its roster of airline partners, allowing travellers to earn Garuda miles on hotel stays.
Members of GarudaMiles and Hilton HHonors can amass both hotel points and airline miles whenever staying at one of over 4,100 hotels, including at brands like Hilton, Conrad and Waldorf Astoria.
"Indonesia is a key, growing market within Asia, and we are continuously looking for new ways to reward the increasing number of Hilton HHonors members that travel to the region," said Mark Weinstein, Hilton’s Vice President of Commercial Services Strategy, Loyalty Programs and Partnerships.
Effective immediately, members of both loyalty programs can earn 10 HHonors points and one GarudaMiles mile for every US dollar spent during their stay.
At the less-expensive Hampton Inn, Homewood Suites and Home2 Suites properties, earning will be capped at 100 GarudaMiles miles per stay.
We’ve previously covered the benefits of Hilton HHonors for Australian travellers, including how to earn HHonors points and either Qantas or Velocity points at the same time.
If you’re a Gold or Platinum frequent flyer in Virgin Australia’s Velocity program, you’ll have the option to receive free HHonors Gold or Diamond status.
There’s no requirement to credit stays to Velocity after doing the match, and while you can now credit to GarudaMiles, we’d still recommend choosing Velocity or United to get the most bang for your buck.
