Hilton London Bankside hotel opens

Now part of Hilton’s worldwide portfolio, the Hilton London Bankside hotel welcomes travellers bound for the UK’s capital amidst an urban design with a contemporary ‘industrial’ feel.

Nearby to Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre, the hotel boasts 25 bespoke suites among its 292 guest rooms with views of London’s city skyline, along with a penthouse apartment with a private roof terrace and a 100m2 entertainment area.

All guests can enjoy a pint of lager, cocktails or can choose from 50 types of gin at The Distillery – dubbed by the hotel as being “cool and casual” – along with meals at OXBO Bankside, the hotel’s all-day dining restaurant with a focus on locally-sourced British ingredients:

"Located in one of Britain's oldest settlements, Hilton London Bankside is a unique property, beautifully designed to represent the city's historical past and urban environment,” said Rob Palleschi, Global Head: Full Service Brands at Hilton Worldwide.

“Known for its rich history and dynamic culture, Bankside is a key market area for the region and this opening elevates Hilton's overall presence in this important destination".

References to the neighbouring Tate Modern can be seen in the lobby flooring, which evokes the famous Turbine Hall, and through the collection of art displayed throughout the property.

You’ll also spot bespoke lighting, exposed metal screens, reprocessed tube station tiles and bespoke joinery in the guestrooms and throughout the hotel, with furnishings inspired by the colours and prints of William Morris: a 19th century English textile designer.

Catering also for meetings and conferences, the property features eight flexible meeting rooms and a pillar-less ballroom with glittering chandeliers dangling above up to 700 guests from a six-metre high ceiling, or simply head to the Executive Lounge for something more casual.

Australian travellers arriving into London on Qantas’ flagship QF1 service from Sydney to Heathrow via Dubai, or indeed on any other morning flight, can also make use of a dedicated arrivals area with shower facilities to refresh after their long journey should their room not be immediately available.

Rounding out the offering is an on-site gym, swimming pool and spa, with Hilton HHonors members able to earn and redeem HHonors points at this Category 8 hotel, where Gold and Diamond members receive free space-available room upgrades and complimentary daily breakfast.
