Hong Kong’s first Hotel Indigo will open its doors next month, adding another appealing boutique hotel to hip Hong Kong scene..
Located in the bustling Wan Chai district, the Hotel Indigo Hong Kong Island begins with a ‘soft opening’ in early April ahead of the formal ribbon-cutting in May.
With 138 individually styled rooms over 29 floors, the striking building is wrapped in a striking ‘gold dragon’ cast from burnished bronze, which helps screen the building from ‘hot spots and solar gain’, according to designers Aedas.
Capping it all off is a rooftop bar and a glass-bottomed infinity pool jutting out from the building.
And yes, wi-fi Internet flows fast and free throughout the hotel.
The location’s good for work and play, with the Wan Chai MTR station at the hotel’s doorstop putting Central, Admiralty and Causeway Bay just a few stops away.
That said, we suggest taking some time out to explore Wan Chai itself, an oft-overlooked historic and richly dynamic part of Hong Kong.
“Hotel Indigo Hong Kong Island is bringing something special to the neighbourhood of Wan Chai and to Hong Kong” explains Hotel Indigo Hong Kong Island is General Manager Bryan Gabriel.
“A big part of the Hotel Indigo Hong Kong Island philosophy is to inspire curiosity in our well travelled and savvy guests, connecting them with the neighbourhood from a welcoming and comfortable base that is both striking in design and intimate in its service.”

This will be an added choice of hotel to my IHG list whenever I visit HKG next. I missed working for the IHG.

It's an honour to know that my sister has a friend whose father owns this hotel.
